For Summer School 2010:

This year's Performing Arts/Games Summer School begins on Monday 26th July at 10.30am where children should be dropped off in the Sixth Form Common Room (directions just inside the main entrance) of St Dunstans College in Catford (SE6 4TY). We are extremely excited for what should be a fantastic week and can't wait to see everyone, both old and new!

Please remember to bring:

- your LCN t-shirt (please wear all week if possible for identification reasons and don't worry if you don't have one yet, they will be available at the main desk)

- a packed lunch, snacks and plenty of water for each day (please put them in a clear labelled container so we know who's is who and please avoid bringing nuts and fish due to some serious allergies)

- your lyric pack every day (these will be handed out on the Monday and will contain all the words to the songs we shall learn)

Please be prompt each day as we are working to a busy schedule.

We also run an Early Bid service for parents who require childcare from 9am to 10.15am each day. Parents who drop their children off between these times will be charged £5 per morning where your children will be entertained with games and DVDs. This £5 is payable on the day, or can be paid at the start of the week.

Photo disks will be available for purchase at the end of the week, containing over 150 high-quality pictures capturing the week and the fun everyone's had. A selection of these photos will be displayed outside the Great Hall, and if parents would like to order a photo disk, there will be a form at the main desk so we know how many to make!

We hope everyone has an excellent week - see you then!

Reduced Shakespeare Company Workshop Write-Up:

On Saturday 27th February, our two older groups were very fortunate to have the expertise of Tim Beckmann and John Schwab, two founding members of the world-renowned 'Reduced Shakespeare Company', for an extremely animated and good fun workshop.

They brought with them a lot of hilarious warm-ups and improvisation starters, as well as performing and working with us on the opening verse of Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet'. No one was expecting the fast-paced, quick-humoured way they presented Shakespeare - and by the end of the workshop, we had all been given the opportunity to choreograph and perform our own 'RSC-esque' presentation of the extract! Everyone who attended the workshop was extremely grateful to Tim and John, and seemed to have a fantastic and educational experience of how Shakespeare can be presented in a way we never could have imagined!
